The Effect
Having being previously accustomed to a Microsoft only IT infrastructure, White Design struggled to notice any difference in the way they worked - apart from the added stability and ease of expansion that their new Open Source alternative now offered them.
With a stable and reliable server, they don't even need to think about how it is running. Additionally, White Design is no longer tied to a particular vendor and as such has avoided the lock in that this brings.
The Savings
Initial savings realised through the use of Open Source Software have been in the region of £2,300.
