The Challenge
Monaghans are a medium sized cost management consultants and project managers for the construction industry. They have a full portfolio of services that would be expected only of many larger organisations. Their growing list of prestige clients, particularly in the retail sector, is a sign that they are recognised as being a market leader.
With over 70 office based staff members, 3 regional offices and a head office in Sheffield, Monaghans IT requirements are significant. Aside from the usual infrastructure requirements (such as a capable email system, network management, user management and security, system backups etc) they wanted to develop an internal information system that could capture project data, monitor staff hours, manage contacts and provide reporting tools for other business functions.

"We were always a bit sceptical about how IT could help us in our day to day business, but even myself - who could be considered a non IT person - cannot imagine what our business would be like without it. An important factor for us is the ability to remain flexible as our clients demands change frequently and with each client we have. This has to be matched by our internal business processes and hence our supporting IT.
